Dear Governor Newsom, Our neighborhood small businesses are doing everything you ask of them to slow the pandemic, but they are barely hanging on. Prop 15’s more than $11 billion property tax increase will raise rents on small family businesses so high that they won’t survive. Many small businesses lease their stores, offices, and shops. Property owners will simply pass along Prop 15’s higher property taxes to small businesses by raising rents - hurting their ability to stay open and increasing costs for all of us. Governor Newsom, please don’t make our neighborhood small businesses close their doors forever. Californians can’t afford higher property taxes and higher rents. Vote NO on Prop 15.
